The word fettle means to fix, mend of make. Rooted in Wigan’s industrial roots going right back to the romans through the industrial revolution, Wigan has a proud history of making, building and crafting from metalwork to clockmaking and our story isn’t over yet, we’re still at it. The magic of Wigan is in its people. The dreamers, believers, crafters, grafters fixers and fettlers. Wigan has it all and this new neighbourhood is here to celebrate and harness that pride, creating a place in our town that people can be proud of.

The journey’s just begun.

Fettlers is part of a longer-term vision for Wigan town centre, this multi-million-pound redevelopment of the former Galleries shopping centre site is about creating a place that feels active, welcoming and full of character somewhere that feels vibrant, connected and true to Wigan, both now and in the future.

Working alongside Cityheart, the focus is on shaping a neighbourhood that people can enjoy in different ways, whether they’re passing through, spending time there, or making it part of everyday life.
